Five on the Fly #4
Current obsessions: new skincare in the mix, cute kid clothes, a show to binge, and something good to listen to
This is a week and a day late. Better late than never, right? April was a wild one— my health knocked me down, and it took its sweet time to get better. So, I had to get creative in finding those little pockets of joy to keep going. But hey, I’m back! And while I might be a little behind schedule, here’s a roundup of the top 5 things I’ve been obsessed with this month. Let’s dive into all the good stuff I’ve been loving (and need to share) from April!
Dieux Deliverance
Dieux Deliverance1 is my peace treaty in a bottle—truly the skincare equivalent of a deep exhale after someone finally stops talking over you. It’s incredibly calming, like a lavender-scented therapist for your face, and since I started using it, my skin tone has evened out and my breakouts have been significantly less dramatic (we’re talking a polite disagreement instead of a full-blown rebellion). It glides on like a dream and plays so well with others—it’s the perfect opening act before I layer on Dieux Instant Angel (which is basically whipped hydration magic) and then finish with my trusty Ultra Violette SPF. It’s a little ritual that makes me feel like I have my life together, even if I'm still wearing pajama pants at noon.
Lion Pose Pep Talk
Lion Pose Pep Talk2 is exactly what it sounds like—a firm but loving hype woman for your skin. I press it on to my skin after tretinoin at night to make sure I don’t wake up looking like I lost a fight with my face scrub mitt. No more dreaded peeling, just dewy, well-rested skin that looks and feels like it’s actually hydrated. I've noticed a real improvement in my hyperpigmentation, and paired with my gentler, morning lineup, it’s been a game-changer for keeping both breakouts and contact dermatitis in check. Honestly, it’s “skin barrier healed, life together, inbox at zero” energy—even if none of those things are technically true.
If you are not familiar, Lion Pose is a skincare brand founded by Madhu and Nisha, to bring clinically tested, inclusive skincare to all tones and types—filling the gap between strict standards and real skin needs. Their offerings, such as the Unspotted® 4X Acid Jelly Night Serum and Pep Talk™ Bio-Peptide Barrier Cream, are backed by clinical trials and regularly win awards for their efficacy and inclusivity.
Milk Teeth Strawberry Cropped Sweatshirt
This strawberry sweatshirt is, unfortunately for me, toddler-sized only—because if it came in adult sizes, I’d be wearing it right now and probably every day after that. My daughter loves it so much she asks for it by name, and honestly, I get it. It’s soft, cheerful without being cutesy, and makes her look like the cool kid in the farmers market I wish I was. It’s one of those rare things that feels fun but still super wearable, and I’m just out here, slightly jealous, folding it and wondering why no one is designing matching mom versions for the emotionally stable among us.
The Four Seasons - Netflix
I binged this in one afternoon—eight episodes, thirty minutes each, and three semi-dysfunctional couples / college friends who regularly vacationing together. It takes an episode or two to settle in, but once it clicks, the humor starts landing. What I liked is that you only see the couples on vacation—no day-to-day routine, just the version of themselves they bring to group trips (which is often the messiest version). It’s part heartwarming, part hilarious, and occasionally cringe in the best way. A solid, easy watch if you’re in the mood to zone out and mildly judge fictional people.
Spotify Audiobooks - Is She Really Going Out with Him? by Sophie Cousens

Spotify now has audiobooks, which feels like a weirdly underhyped feature considering how good the selection is. If you’re on a family plan, the main account holder gets 15 hours of audiobook listening a month included, which is how I ended up listening to Is She Really Going Out with Him? by Sophie Cousens while stuck on bedrest a couple of weeks ago. It was exactly the kind of light, charming story I needed—funny, easy to follow, and sweet without being saccharine. The plot follows a woman who starts questioning why her ex turn into dream husband after they divorce, and things spiral in exactly the kind of British rom-com way you’d hope. Highly recommend for anyone needing a feel-good listen, especially if you’re lying down and not allowed to do anything remotely productive.
Also, in case you need the reminder: Mother’s Day is this Sunday. If you’ve got any mom-figures to celebrate, now’s the time to get it together! And if you’re still hunting for the perfect gift, especially of the bag variety,
did a fab roundup featuring some very chic moms and their bags of choice.
